Abstract Submission

Should presenters wish to do so, they can submit more than one abstract as lead author or otherwise. For each abstract, authors can request the presentation format that they prefer.

 

All submissions will be considered in May during which time the details of this meeting's programme will be finalised.

VENUES: Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city and is serviced by rail, canal, the national cycle network, road, international airport, and taxis. Low carbon travel and carbon offsetting are encouraged.

 

The main meeting is to be hosted in the Pentland section of Edinburgh’s John McIntyre Conference Centre where a quiet breakout / board room will be available in addition to the main seminar room. A weeknight banquet during the event will be held in the nearby South Hall. Details of an  opening - informal - optional icebreaker dinner shall follow.

Some may require a travel visa to enter the United Kingdom, please check this government website. If you require a letter of support please email the Chair.
 

Reservations have been made to accommodate most delegates in Salisbury Green and connected Masson House should this be your preference. Bookings can be made at the time of registration through the payment system. These University-run hotels are located in close proximity to the John McIntyre Conference Centre and a range of local points of interest. These centrally located attractions include but are not limited to Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace and Park, Dynamic Earth, The Scottish National Galleries, Edinburgh Dungeons, a range of museums inclusive of the National Museum of Scotland, and the exquisite Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. 

The registration fee for in-person attendance of the main event includes coffee / tea / refreshments, and a mid-event banquet. See also, the Indicative Programme.

  • Option - In-person Welcome Dinner, Sunday 6th               £35
     

  • Option - In-person all inclusive Gartmore House Retreat   £500 
    The retreat is limited to ~30 places and the above cost includes transfer, accommodation,
    and all meals, refreshments, and activities. Priority will be given to those granted bursaries.
     

Early-bird rates are available until April 22nd, after that date late registration rates will apply.
Queries about in-person day rates, or those with retired status, should be directed to the organisers.

Given the pressing crisis of rapid climate and ecological change travel to the meeting via the use of public transport, other low-carbon transport, and / or carbon offsetting is strongly encouraged.

The accommodation provisions noted here, along with meeting venues, provide for accessibility where people may have differing needs. Enquiries concerning specific needs and requests can be submitted to Edinburgh First or the meeting's organisers.
